About Warzone 2100
Similar to: Command & Conquer. If you like Command & Conquer, Warzone 2100 is a free alternative you can play right here in your browser, with no download.
Warzone 2100 is a real-time strategy classic, first released in 1999 by Pumpkin Studios and later made open source by its community. After nuclear strikes have wiped out most of civilisation, you lead The Project as it rebuilds with pre-war technology and fights rival factions for control of the land.
What makes it stand out is its depth: you research a long chain of upgrades and design your own units from a chassis, a drive system such as wheels or tracks, and a weapon. Bases carry over between missions, oil is your income, and sensors and artillery decide many battles. This web edition has the campaign and skirmish games against the computer with the classic look.
