Luanti (formerly Minetest) is a free, open-source voxel game engine, and here it comes with Minetest Game, its classic survival game. You start in an endless world made of blocks: forests, mountains, snowy plains, oceans and deep caves. Mine stone and ore, chop trees, craft tools and build anything from a simple hut to a castle.

Play in survival mode, where you collect resources and watch your health, or turn on creative mode in the world settings to build freely with every block. Worlds are generated as you explore and are saved in your browser, so you can come back to them later. This is an unofficial web version of Luanti; it opens on its own page and works with a keyboard and mouse or on a touch screen.

How to play

Press Play: the game opens in a new tab. The first start downloads about 20 MB.

Press Play again on the start screen to go straight into a world.

Punch trees to get wood, then open your inventory and craft planks, sticks and a pickaxe.

Mine stone and ore, and build a shelter before the first night.

Explore, craft better tools and build whatever you like.

Controls

W, A, S, D: move, Space: jump, Shift: sneak

Mouse: look around, left button: dig, right button: place

I: inventory and crafting, Escape: menu

Touch screen: joystick on the left to move, drag to look, tap to dig, long press to place

Tips

Craft a wooden pickaxe first, then a stone one: stone tools dig much faster.

Torches (coal and sticks) keep caves and your home lit at night.

Use 'Worlds and settings' on the start screen to create more worlds or turn on creative mode.

Your worlds are saved in this browser only.
