About Tanks of Freedom II

Similar to: Advance Wars. If you like Advance Wars, Tanks of Freedom II is a free alternative you can play right here in your browser, with no download.

Tanks of Freedom II is a free, open-source turn-based strategy game by the indie studio P1X, the sequel to the original Tanks of Freedom. Up to four armies fight on isometric maps built from colourful voxel models: lead infantry, tanks, artillery and helicopters, capture buildings to earn resources and recruit new units, and defeat the rival armies.

The campaign starts with a tutorial and a prologue and continues with four story campaigns. Skirmish lets you fight the computer on any map, multiplayer is a hot-seat battle with friends on one computer, and the built-in map editor lets you create your own scenarios. The game is about 250 MB, so the first start takes a moment.

How to play

  1. Open Campaign and start with the Tutorial: it teaches moving, capturing, recruiting and combat.
  2. Select a unit and click a highlighted tile to move it or an enemy to attack.
  3. Capture buildings to earn resources, then recruit new units in your bases.
  4. End your turn and complete the mission goal to win.
