About Black Hole Square
Black Hole Square is a minimalist puzzle game by Quinten Clause, made for the js13kGames 2021 competition on the theme of space. Your task sounds simple: clean up all the other squares in the universe. Just tap them and see what happens.
Each puzzle adds a new kind of square with its own behaviour, and working out how they react to each other is the whole fun. Short puzzles, a dark space look and swipes to reset or skip make it easy to pick up for a few minutes.
How to play
- Wait for the intro and tap the screen.
- Tap or click a square and watch what happens.
- Find the order of taps that clears every square.
- Swipe right to reset or go back, swipe left to skip a puzzle.

- Mouse / touch: tap a square
- Swipe right: reset a puzzle or go back
- Swipe left: skip a puzzle
Tips
- Experiment first: each new square type teaches you its rule.
- If a puzzle goes wrong, reset it and think a move ahead.
- With a mouse, drag left or right to swipe.
