Coric's Quest is a small, complete fantasy RPG by Tung Nguyen, made in the style of the console role-playing games of the 80s and 90s. The land was once watched over by the Elemental Spirits, but a mysterious darkness has taken hold of them, and the young hero Coric sets out to set things right.

Explore three realms, each with its own dungeon and boss, talk to the people you meet and fight monsters in one-on-one turn-based battles. Twenty-four kinds of enemies, four weapons and armours, four magic spells and four kinds of items keep the journey interesting, along with a few simple puzzles. A playthrough takes about two hours, with charming pixel art and an 8-bit style soundtrack.

How to play

Press Space on the title screen and follow the opening scene.

Walk with the arrow keys and press Space to talk to people and examine things.

Fight monsters in turn-based battles: attack, use magic or items.

Find better weapons and armour, save your progress and defeat the boss of each realm.

Controls

Arrow keys: walk, move the cursor in menus

Space: talk, interact, confirm

Left Ctrl: open the menu, cancel

Touch screen: joystick to walk, A = Space, B = Ctrl

Tips

Talk to everyone: people often tell you where to go next.

Heal with items or magic before a boss fight.

Equip new weapons and armour from the menu as soon as you find them.
