About Billiards
Similar to: 8 Ball Pool. If you like 8 Ball Pool, Billiards is a free alternative you can play right here in your browser, with no download.
Billiards is a 3D pool and snooker simulator with a physics engine built from published research on ball motion, spin and cushion bounces. Play 9-ball against a computer opponent, rack up 8-ball, or take on a full-size snooker table.
It also has three-cushion carom with a beginner mode and a free practice table. The balls react to top, back and side spin much like on a real table, so good positional play pays off.
How to play
- Pick a game from the menu: 9-ball against the computer, 8-ball, snooker, three-cushion or practice.
- On the break, move the cue ball if you like and press Place Ball.
- Aim the cue, set the power on the slider at the bottom and press Hit.
- Pot the balls by the rules of the game you chose.
Controls
- Mouse: drag on the table to aim
- Power slider at the bottom: shot strength
- Ball control on the left: spin (where the cue hits the ball)
- Hit button: shoot
- Keyboard: left and right arrows aim, hold Space for power and release to shoot
- Touch: the same on-screen controls
Tips
- Use a little back spin to stop the cue ball after it hits, and top spin to follow through.
- Softer shots are easier to control than full power.
- In 9-ball, think one ball ahead and leave the cue ball where the next shot is easy.
Devices
Plays on computers, phones and tablets in any modern browser.
