Mindustry Classic is the original version of Mindustry, the factory tower defense by Anuke that later grew into a big open-source hit. Your goal is to defend the core: every wave of enemies spawns at set points and tries to destroy it, and if the core falls, you lose.

To survive, you build a small factory. Drills mine stone, iron and other ores, conveyors carry them into the core, and turrets fed with ammo shoot the enemies automatically. Later waves call for pumps, generators and power lasers. Besides the wave mode, there are sandbox and free build modes, a map editor and a tutorial.

How to play

Click Play, then New Game; first-time players can start with the Tutorial.

Pick a game mode, a difficulty and a map.

Place drills on ore and link them to the core with conveyors to collect resources.

Build turrets, feed them ammo by conveyor and protect the core from every wave.

Controls

Touch screen: joystick bottom left, finger on the map = aim and shoot or build, A = boost, ☰ = pause

W A S D: move your mech; Shift: boost

Mouse: aim; hold the left button to shoot

Left click: place the selected block; scroll wheel: rotate it

Right click: deselect, or remove a block

Ctrl + scroll wheel: zoom

Space: pause; 1–9: switch weapons

Tips

Different ores need different drills: stone needs stone drills, iron needs iron drills.

Turrets only shoot while they have ammo, so keep a conveyor running to them.

You can still place blocks while the game is paused.

This version plays without music; the sound effects are on.

Devices

Plays on computers; works on phones and tablets with some limits.
