Interplanetary Postal Service is a lunar lander game by Sebastian Macke, made for the js13kGames 2018 competition. As a postman of the Interplanetary Postal Service you fly a lander module on the last miles to a distant colony and deliver its precious mail by landing on the pad.
What makes it special is the wind: the air around you is simulated with real fluid dynamics, so gusts and swirls push the lander around the hills and buildings. Gravity, wind and limited fuel make each of the eight levels a short, tense challenge, and the original contest version fitted into 13 kilobytes.
How to play
- Click the game and wait for the countdown.
- Fire the thrusters with the arrow keys or W A S D.
- Steer against gravity and the wind and watch your fuel gauge.
- Land gently on the landing pad to deliver the mail and reach the next of the 8 levels.
Controls
- Touch screen: joystick on the left = thrusters
- Arrow keys or W A S D: thrusters
- Space: sound on or off
Tips
- Short bursts of thrust are easier to control than holding a key.
- Watch how the wind moves around hills and buildings before you fly through.
- Slow down well before the pad: landing too fast destroys the lander.
Devices
Plays on computers; works on phones and tablets with some limits.
