About Draughts
Draughts is the classic board game of jumps and captures, played here on the large 10×10 international board against the computer.
Each side starts with 20 pieces. Choose to play as black or white, pick Easy, Medium or Hard, and try to outsmart the computer by capturing its pieces until it cannot move anymore. Reach the far side of the board with a piece to crown it a king, which makes it much more powerful. A calm game for anyone who likes to think a few moves ahead.
How to play
- Choose a difficulty: Easy, Medium or Hard.
- Pick your colour with Play as black or Play as white.
- Move your pieces diagonally forward, one square at a time.
- Jump over an opponent's piece to capture it and remove it from the board.
- Reach the opposite side to promote a piece to a king and win by taking or blocking all enemy pieces.
Controls
- Mouse / touch: click or tap a piece, then the square you want to move it to
Tips
- Keep your back row filled as long as possible so the computer cannot easily get a king.
- Move your pieces in groups; a lonely piece is easy to capture.
- Look for moves that force the computer into a capture you can answer with a double jump.
