Free games like Monkey Island

If you love the jokes, the characters and the puzzles of Monkey Island, these classic adventures are made for you. Flight of the Amazon Queen (1995) is a comedy adventure in the jungle: pilot Joe King crashes with a film star in the Amazon and runs into Amazon warriors and a very strange scientist. Drascula: The Vampire Strikes Back (1996) parodies old vampire films with absurd jokes and puzzles that need lateral thinking.

Beneath a Steel Sky (1994) by Revolution Software is a darker science fiction story in a huge city, told with humour and with the robot Joey at your side. Lure of the Temptress (1992), Revolution's first game, is a fantasy adventure in a town where the people walk around, talk and work on their own.

Two Polish classics by LK Avalon complete the list. In the comedy Sołtys (1995) you are the head of the village of Wąchock, chasing the groom who ran away from your daughter's wedding. In Sfinx (1997) two school friends, Vincent and Anna, set out to find an alien whose flying saucer has landed on Earth, and you switch between them to solve the puzzles.

All six games are complete, free and run in ScummVM in your browser, with no download.
